How to Make SpectreAltexLight

Created on 5 September 2026

For this effect, you will need Vegas 7 or newer (strongly recommended; while the older versions of it are completely not the best), the VST version of IL Vocodex, and a home of NewBlueFX plugins (if you already installed them). Always note that using the trial version of IL Vocodex is not necessary because it has limitations.

Step 1: Getting Started

Open Vegas Pro and start importing your favourite source or clip by dragging it onto the timeline. It's best if you set the resolution of your project to 1080p through the settings without the deinterlacing filter.

Step 2: Applying the Video Effect

Click on the "Video Event FX" button and apply the following effects from the plugin manager, such as NewBlueFX Light Rays (set its preset to Ice Crystals), TV Simulator, and Gradient Map. Now you can customise the ones that are mentioned by using the following images below:

Step 3: Applying the Audio Effect

Click the "Audio Event FX" button to find the IL Vocodex plugin (if you've already installed) and add it to the audio track. Remember to set the entire preset to "Elderly" and the carrier tone to "Machine". Adjust the knob of the modulator bandwidth multiplier to the maximum amount, and the order control to the lower setting or 1. Set the band count to 100 bands. Maximise the band width by twisting the knob all the way to the right. Finally, edit the keyset that is provided below:

Step 4: Preview, Render, and Upload

Once you've finished all steps, preview your video and render it in any format with the best resolution possible. After you're done, you can now upload it to YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, e.g.
